a SWEET celebration:Tripp and Sophie's Birthday

Having a boy and a girl just 4 days {and 3 years} apart is tough when planning a birthday that doesn't break the bank or favor one gender!
To say that my children love candy would be a HUGE understatement so a Sweet Shoppe theme was perfect for a boy and girl joint party for all ages.
I decided on a color scheme of orange, blue and pink with orange being the overlapping color for the pink and blue and chevron print being the common background on most every printed detail.
The market cart was the perfect touch to set the entire candy shoppe idea into motion and became a central focal point when designing the room. It was complete with jars of pink, blue and orange gumballs. Pink and blue saltwater taffy, gummie bears and rock candy.
Favor boxes were topped with mini paper poms compete with a cherry on top for the children to fill up before they left the party. And don't dare forget to "Brush Your Sweet Tooth" after you indulge!
Food was themed around a Soda/Sweet Shoppe menu and included cheeseburger sliders, fries in custom boxes and grilled cheese atop ruffles chips. After filling their bellies kids were slurping down a homemade old-fashioned root beer float in a float cup topped with a real cherry....and adorable cherry straw topper.
Guests ate and filled up with sliders and candy galore as they took a step back in time and allowed themselves to be kids with their kids!
